Michael sets the strategic direction of the firm and oversees all investment activity, managing the sourcing, integration, and scaling of alpha across internal and external teams. He brings over 20 years of experience across global hedge funds and digital asset platforms. Prior to AlgoQuant, Michael was Head of Digital Assets Strategic Implementation at Point72 and COO at Meraki Global Advisors. He began his career as a trader at Ziff Brothers Investments and later became Operating Partner at Thunderbird Partners. He also serves on AIMA’s Digital Assets Working Group.

Alexander leads firmwide execution and platform strategy, with a focus on investment architecture, portfolio design, and operational performance. He has been instrumental in shaping AlgoQuant’s infrastructure and capital allocation systems, bringing deep experience in quantitative research, portfolio construction, and market microstructure. He combines the discipline of traditional finance with the innovation of digital markets to ensure consistent, scalable alpha generation.

Bastiaan leads AlgoQuant’s global technology strategy, overseeing research and trading infrastructure, engineering, cybersecurity, and execution systems. He brings over two decades of experience in low latency trading systems and global technology leadership. Prior to joining AlgoQuant, he served as CEO of Optiver Global Technologies and Group CTO at Maven Securities, where he built high performance trading platforms, including the industry’s first high frequency radio execution networks. At AlgoQuant, he is responsible for architecting the firm’s full stack technology infrastructure to support world-class research, execution, and operational resilience.

Matthew Hooper is AlgoQuant’s Chief Financial Officer, leading Finance and Operations to strengthen the firm’s financial discipline and operational agility. He brings senior experience from Mulvaney Capital Management and Somerset Capital Management, where he built scalable systems, robust controls, and high-performing finance teams. A qualified accountant with a First-Class BA in Economics & Finance from Exeter University, Matthew ensures AlgoQuant’s financial and operational foundations keep pace with its ambitions.

Celyn leads AlgoQuant’s legal, regulatory, and compliance functions globally. With over 20 years of experience, he has held senior positions at the UK Financial Conduct Authority, Dentons, and Portofino Technologies. He has led regulatory licensing processes, advised on AML and governance frameworks, and supported firms operating across multiple jurisdictions. At AlgoQuant, he ensures legal structure and regulatory alignment underpin all strategic initiatives.
